Overview
Laserfiche is the preferred vendor for Texas A&M University's enterprise document management implementation and is offered to The Texas A&M University System as a shared service. Laserfiche captures paper and electronic documents and provides document storage, retrieval, security and archiving.
Access
Please request access using this form.
Software
In order for Laserfiche users to interact with the Laserfiche system, the client should be installed or Web Access made available. The desktop software offers full-functionality in scanning, importing/exporting, editing documents, OCR, and searching. It is the preferred means of interacting with Laserfiche (assuming you're on a PC).
To install the desktop client, please contact ITS. The installation will create a Laserfiche folder in your Start Menu.
Upon first launch, some configuration should be performed:
Open Laserfiche
Click Attach
Enter the information below:
Address: it-lf-ecm2.tamu.edu
Repository: TAMU-CLAR
Check Use SSL Connection
Click Attach
Enter the information below:
Click Password Authentication
User name: NetID@tamu.edu
Password: NetID password
Click OK.
Web
There is one online method of accessing Laserfiche.
Laserfiche Web Access is a suitable method of interacting with Laserfiche If you're on a Mac or if you don't have sophisticated Laserfiche needs. It gives you a web version of Laserfiche that allows minimal scanning, importing/exporting, and editing. To access Laserfiche Web Access, open the following URL in a browser: Laserfiche Web Access.
Note: Your repository is TAMU-CLAR, your username is in the form of NetID@tamu.edu, and the corresponding NetID password.
Scanning
At this time, the preferred scanner for ITS recommends is the Epson DS-530 Color Duplex Document Scanner.
Training
Employee & Organizational Development offers a Laserfiche Fundamentals course designed to teach new Laserfiche users how to get started in using the software. The class is free to anyone in the College of Architecture and is taught several times a semester. Everyone planning on using Laserfiche is strongly encouraged to attend prior to having Laserfiche set up on their computers.
