Jamf Migration
This section presents a comprehensive step-by-step guide for the migration of Macs to the new Jamf tenant and for ensuring that they are enrolled successfully while receiving all the necessary updates.
How to Migration a Mac:
Before doing anything, please ensure that all data on the Mac is backed up. We recommend using OneDrive for the backup, but that is not required.
Ensure the device is running macOS Ventura (version 13.0) or macOS Sonoma (version 14.0)
Go to your Settings application.
Go to the General Tab.
Go to Transfer or Reset.
Select Erase All Content and Settings.
You’ll need to confirm that this will erase everything on the device.
Then your Mac will restart and briefly show a black screen or progress bar.
Now, you will be setting up the computer as if it was brand new.
Now you’ll see a unique screen. This is the Jamf Management application installing itself and it’s new features.
Once Jamf completes its installation, you’ll need to sign in using your Texas A&M University credentials.
Now macOS will be integrated with your Texas A&M University information.
This is where you sign in from now on when you open your computer.
Once inside your profile, you’ll have a one-time message explaining the new features and setup.
